Acheson Construction - Administration

Acheson Construction, a Dorchester-based building contractor, entered administration on 18 February.

The company was founded in 1974 and has focused on construction projects in many different sectors across the South and South West of England.

Richard Lewis and Alistair Wardell of Grant Thornton were appointed joint administrators and said that the company had been impacted by high costs on fixed price contracts.

40 of the company’s 48 employees have been made redundant, with the remaining staff assisting to wind down the company’s affairs.

Lloyds Bank has a registered charge against the company, which was represented by Michelmores.
