Caledonian Logistics - Administration
Caledonian Logistics, an Aberdeen haulage firm with depots in Inverness, Oldmeldrum Kintore and Cumbernauld, entered administration on 29 November.
The company, which employed around 130 people, cited challenging trading conditions and a lack of funding from parent company Drac Logistics, which acquired Caledonian Logistics just two years ago, as contributing to its collapse.
Recent efforts to sell the company or its business and assets proved unsuccessful and the company ceased trading before the administration.
Donald McNaught and Graeme Bain of Johnston Carmichael were appointed joint administrators.
Some of the company’s assets, including its contract with Palletways, were subsequently acquired by Aberdeen company GS Light Haulage, saving 60 jobs.
LHV Bank, Bibby Invoice Discounting and HSBC Bank have registered charges against the company.
