UK minister Sir Stephen Timms has urged the Insolvency Service to investigate Baaj Capital’s conduct following the collapse of Bodycare, after 1,500 redundancies and £37.5 million in taxpayer-funded payouts, amid allegations that the firm’s owners prioritised their own claims, withheld staff wages and pensions, and shifted liabilities onto the public purse.
