Catamaran Ventures UK Ltd - Solvent Liquidation
Catamaran Ventures UK Ltd, an investment company owned by Prime Minister Rishi Sunak’s wife Akshata Murty, was placed into solvent liquidation on 21 December.
The company, which invests in start-ups, was founded by the Sunaks in 2013, but has been headed by Ms Murty since Mr Sunak stood down as a director in 2015.
All the holdings of Catamaran Ventures have reportedly been transferred to ShareGift, a charity with experience accepting donations in the form of shares, with the exception of flower delivery start-up Bloom & Wild, which Ms Murty kept in her name.
Adam Stephens and Martyn Ewing of Evelyn Partners were appointed joint liquidators. Hanh Nguyen of Charles Russell Speechlys assisted in placing the company into solvent liquidation.
