Consumer Energy Solutions enters administration, trading ceases with immediate effect

Consumer Energy Solutions Ltd., a south Wales–based provider of domestic energy efficiency services, has entered administration and ceased trading, triggering the loss of almost 300 jobs and leaving hundreds of customer projects unfinished.

James Saunders and Michael Lennon of KR8 Advisory Limited were appointed as joint administrators on 9 January 2026. Upon their appointment, the company stopped all trading activities and confirmed it would not complete existing installations, remedial works, or ongoing customer complaints. The collapse affects 295 employees across the company’s operations in Swansea and Treorchy.

In a notice published following the appointment, Consumer Energy Solutions said it was no longer in a position to continue operating. The administrators confirmed that the administration relates solely to Consumer Energy Solutions and does not extend to other entities within the wider City Energy Group.
