Farmison Limited

  • A large-scale online meat retailer has been acquired out of administration after a majority of the company's 75 staff were made redundant earlier this month.

  • Farmison Limited, a Ripon-based online butcher company, entered administration on 6 April, after the business underwent a fundraising process to secure external investment, but did not secure a sufficient level of interest.

  • Now, Joint Administrators Benjamin Jones and Arvindar Singh of FRP Advisory have announced that the company has been purchased by a consortium led by former Asda CEO Andy Clarke (who will reportedly become executive chairman of the company) and Chilli Marketing co-founders Gareth Whittle, Christian Barton and Kieron Barton, for an undisclosed sum.

  • The consortium is set to recommence operations at the company's production facility in Ripon in the coming weeks, bringing jobs back to the area.

  • Joint Administrator Arvindar Singh said that there had been significant interest in purchasing the company, and that a number of serious offers were put forward, but that the proposal from the consortium provides the best opportunity to re-establish the business and maximise returns to creditors.
