Fresh Willow Limited and Madestein (UK) Limited, which together run a Chichester-based hydroponic salad growing business, entered administration on 11 April. The companies’ financial issues were caused by an unsuccessful investment into a proposal for a new glasshouse development on a greenfield site, combined with labour issues and rising energy costs. Philip Armstrong and Steve Baluchi of FRP were appointed Joint Administrators, and are now seeking buyers for the business. National Westminster Bank PLC has two registered charges against Fresh Willow and one against Madestein, The Managing Trustees of the Fresh Willow Limited Retirement & Death Benefits Scheme has a registered charge against Fresh Willow and Rbs Invoice Finance Limited has a registered charge against Madestein.
