Garth Bakery Limited – administration

Garth Bakery Limited, a Welsh bread and morning goods manufacturer, entered administration on 15 November. 89 of 98 staff have been made redundant. David Kemp and Richard Hunt of SFP Group were appointed Joint Administrators following a court application by secured creditor Mitsubishi Hc Capital UK PLC. The Joint Administrators are investigating the causes of the insolvency, but noted that a variety of pressures, including the general rise in prices, have contributed to the closure. Buyers are being sought for assets including vehicles and plant machinery, while the Joint Administrators have arranged for perishable food items to be donated to local shelters and animal charities.
