HCT Group – administration

HCT Group, which provided commercial and community transport services in London, Yorkshire, Bristol, Jersey and Guernsey, entered administration on 23 September. Founded in 1982 to provide transport services for local voluntary organisations, charities and community groups, HCT Group was registered as a company limited by guarantee (and therefore had no shareholders), and was also a registered charity. The Group faced significant financial difficulties during and after the pandemic. It sold most of its business units over August and September 2022, preserving the vast majority of jobs, albeit with different employers. Neville Side, Martha Thompson and Mark Thornton of BDO were appointed as Joint Administrators. Each of Big Issue Social Investments Limited and HSBC Bank PLC has a registered charge against the Group.
