IP versus IP: How does the appointment of a UK Insolvency Practitioner affect a licensee’s Intellectual Property rights?

Mike Knapper, Matthew Thorn, Nicole McKenzie and Helen Coverdale of Norton Rose Fulbright explain that when a UK licensor enters an insolvency process, insolvency practitioners can sell, repudiate or even disclaim IP licences, leaving licensees at risk of losing critical rights unless they have secured protections such as registration, assignment restrictions or escrow arrangements and are ready to act quickly once an appointment is made.
