Jones Food Company - Administration

Jones Food Company, a Gloucestershire-based vertical farming specialist, entered administration on 7 April, with Damian Webb and Stephanie Sutton of RSM UK appointed as administrators.

The company is regarded as a leader in the industry, with a state-of-the-art vertical farming facility and a highly-skilled workforce. The business is believed to supply around 30% of the UK’s cut basil.

Unfortunately, the company was not immune to the challenges facing the industry, leading to the appointment of administrators. 61 staff have been made redundant, while a core team of 11 remain to support administrators in maintaining the site and assisting interested parties.

Hs Credit (Manchester) and Close Brothers have registered charges against the company.
