North Brewing Company Limited - Administration
North Brewing Company Limited, a Leeds-based brewery that supplies supermarkets, restaurants and bars nationwide, but also trades through its own taprooms and bars, entered administration on 25 January, after struggling with the rising cost of energy, labour, and raw materials.
Certain of its subsidiaries also entered administration on the same day, with Howard Smith and Richard Harrison of Interpath Advisory appointed as joint administrators for the companies.
Immediately after their appointment, the joint administrators sold the business and assets to Vertical Drinks Limited and Kirkstall Brewery Limited, securing the future of the Leeds brewery, as well as the Leeds and Manchester North Taproom bars. 78 jobs have been saved. Unfortunately, the Birmingham North Taproom, which is not included in the sale, is set to close with 15 redundancies.
