Promuscle Products enters administration after 15 years in sports nutrition market

Lancashire-based supplement manufacturer, which supplied major UK and European brands and exported internationally, appoints AMS Business Recovery as administrators

Promuscle Products Supplements Limited, a Lancashire-based manufacturer and supplier of sports nutrition products, entered administration on 27 October 2026, bringing its 15-year trading history into uncertainty. Philip Lawrence and Gareth Howarth of AMS Business Recovery were appointed joint administrators.

Established in May 2011 and headquartered in Fleetwood, Promuscle Products specialised in developing and manufacturing nutritional supplements for third-party brands, providing formulation, blending, tableting and encapsulation services. The company supplied established sports nutrition businesses across the UK and European markets and exported products to the United States, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.

The company marketed itself as a contract manufacturing partner capable of producing customised supplement formulations, maintaining an inventory of approximately 400 ingredients and holding manufacturing licences for more than 30 trademarked ingredients. Its operations served businesses seeking to develop and distribute branded sports nutrition products without establishing their own manufacturing facilities.

According to Companies House records, the company was incorporated on 17 May 2011 and operated from premises at 1 Denham Way in Fleetwood. Its latest filed accounts cover the financial year ended 31 March 2025. The company also registered a new charge in July 2026, approximately three months before entering administration.

The circumstances leading to the insolvency have not been disclosed, and the administrators have not yet provided details concerning the company's outstanding liabilities, employee redundancies or prospects for a sale of the business and its assets. It also remains unclear whether manufacturing and distribution operations are continuing during the administration.
