Reflex Vehicle Hire pre-pack sale preserves fleet business and workforce

East Midlands-based vehicle hire business Reflex Vehicle Hire Limited completed a pre-pack administration sale on December 23, 2025, with its business and assets transferring immediately to Reflex Fleet Solutions Limited in a transaction that preserved all 46 jobs and allowed trading to continue uninterrupted from the company’s Loughborough headquarters.

Chris Petts and Jon Roden of Grant Thornton were appointed as joint administrators and executed the going-concern sale shortly after their appointment, securing continuity for a business focused on the hire of light commercial vans, crew vans, executive vehicles, and EV-ready fleet options.

The purchaser said the transaction provides a strengthened capital base and a platform for sustainable growth, with plans to invest in fleet renewal and operating systems while continuing to serve established commercial customers across the UK.

The pre-pack followed financial pressures that emerged despite strong recent trading. For the year ended December 31, 2023, Reflex Vehicle Hire reported turnover of £56.1 million, up from £51.9 million the prior year, although operating profit declined to about £4.6 million from £5.5 million. At that time, fixed assets stood at approximately £69.1 million and net assets at roughly £8.8 million.

The administrators were advised on the transaction by Lee Sennett, Charlotte Duce, and Louise Snipe of Shoosmiths LLP, with additional support from Dan French, David Harris, and Imogen Sheppard of Gateley Plc. Reflex Fleet Solutions was advised by Jonathan Jeffreys, Andrew Curtis, and Mark Alexander of Freeths LLP.
