R.H. Smith & Sons (Wigmakers) trading as Smiffy's - Administration
R.H. Smith & Sons (Wigmakers) trading as Smiffy's, a Leeds-headquartered national fancy dress company, has been sold in a pre-pack deal to Ad Populum just hours after Jane Steer and Sarah O'Toole of PwC were appointed as joint administrators.
The family-owned company was founded 130 years ago and sold party costumes, wigs and decor from an online store and five physical locations in Liverpool, Newcastle, Headingley, Leeds, and Oxford.
Like other retailers, it suffered from the effects of the pandemic.
The whole business, including the five physical stores, has been sold to Ad Populum.
Bz Commercial Finance Designated Activity Company has several registered charges against the company.
