Rougier Street Developments Ltd, which oversaw plans for a huge York Roman Quarter including a Roman museum called Eboracum, an 88-room aparthotel, 153 new apartments and office space, was placed in receivership on 4 May. Steven Williams and Gary Hargreaves of FRP Advisory were appointed receivers. Labour’s executive member for planning on City of York Council, Councillor Michael Pavlovic, said that the Rougier Street proposal had been highlighted as an unviable scheme by the district valuer, on behalf of the council.
