RoyaleLife Group - Case Update

The joint administrators of various companies that fall under the RoyaleLife Group umbrella have begun to unravel the UK caravan giant’s affairs, warning that the situation is likely to trigger lots of court applications over ownership of units.

Royale Park Homes and several other entities within the RoyaleLife Group — a UK caravan giant that was owned and founded by billionaire Robert Bull — entered administration in the summer and fall of 2023. Sandra Mundy, Thomas Russell and Paul Davies of James Cowper Kreston were appointed as joint administrators to several of these companies. Geoffrey Rowley and Paul Allen of FRP Advisory were later appointed additional administrators to assist with the investigation into the conduct of the directors and the financial affairs of the companies.

Now, the joint administrators have released their report outlining some of the issues they have encountered to date, including their receipt of various competing claims over the same units. The RoyaleLife Group operated a number of sites, and it appears that some units were not on the correct sites. The joint administrators have received c.1,000 claims over individual plots and units from around 35 different claimants, some of which are competing claims over the same unit. The joint administrators are working with lawyers to review the claims and, where possible, have started to either agree or reject claims. Where there are competing claims over the same unit and the estate does not have an interest in that unit, the administrators have advised that the court will likely need to determine who owns the unit.

The joint administrators also revealed that the additional administrators have submitted their investigative report to the Insolvency Service, who are now in the process of reviewing the information provided.

The administrators have been assisted by Fieldfisher (legal) and Christie & Co, Savills and LSH (agents). Their latest report can be found HERE.
