Scottish restaurant operator sold out of administration, saving 50 jobs
RSM completes going-concern sale as hospitality headwinds continue to weigh on regional operators

HMS (883) Limited, a Glasgow-based restaurant operator, has been sold out of administration following the appointment of joint administrators Gordon Thomson and Gareth Harris of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory, with the transaction preserving all 50 jobs and securing continuity across its two trading locations.
The administrators were appointed on 5 March 2026 after the company, which operated the Lucali restaurant in Giffnock and Andiamo in Milngavie, became unable to service its accumulated liabilities despite efforts to streamline operations. The business had faced sustained pressure from elevated input costs and subdued trading conditions affecting the UK hospitality sector, contributing to mounting losses and an unsustainable debt position.
HMS (883) had undertaken operational restructuring prior to the appointment, including efforts to rationalise costs and stabilise trading. However, these measures proved insufficient to offset the burden of legacy debt, which remained a central constraint on the company’s liquidity and viability.
Following their appointment, the administrators pursued an accelerated marketing and sale process, ultimately completing a going-concern transaction for the business and assets to GJF Group Limited. The deal ensured that all 50 employees transferred to the purchaser, avoiding redundancies and preserving operations at both sites.
