Skate Hut Ltd - Administration

Skate Hut Ltd, a West Midlands-based skateboard retailer, has been rescued out of administration by SkatePro UK Limited, an unconnected party, saving over 100 jobs.

Skate Hut is an e-commerce retailer with a physical presence in two UK locations.

The company saw success and increased demand during the pandemic, with its turnover peaking at £32.2 million in 2021. Skate Hut then experienced a decline, but its workforce continued to grow to 126 by 2023.

Facing cashflow challenges, Skate Hut approached Bishop Fleming and it was determined that an accelerated sale process via administration would be the best option to protect the business.

Shortly after the appointment of Luke Venner and Malcolm Rhodes of Bishop Fleming as joint administrators on 4 July, the business was sold to Danish online specialist retailer SkatePro UK Limited.
