Sweetspot Group Limited, The Tour Series Limited and The Tour of Britain Limited - Liquidation

Sweetspot Group Limited, The Tour Series Limited and The Tour of Britain Limited, which operated the Tour of Britain cycle race under licence from British Cycling, entered liquidation on 26 January.

The group has experienced financial difficulties following the inability to hold the Tour of Britain during the Covid pandemic and the early termination of the event following the passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. As a result, the contract to host the event was terminated and the group had no option other than to take steps to place the companies into liquidation.

David Taylor and Paul Ellison of KRE Corporate Recovery were appointed as joint liquidators. The English Sports Council has registered charges against the companies.
