Thames Water agrees payment plan for record £122.7m fine

Thames Water has been granted permission to pay its record fine of £122.7 million for breaching rules over sewage spills and shareholder payouts in instalments. It will pay 20% of the fine, or £25.4m, no later than 30 September, after agreeing a payment plan with regulator Ofwat, which said the remainder of the fine has to be paid by the end of March 2030, or earlier if the company's finances improve.
