Thames Water closes in on £16bn rescue deal with lenders

Thames Water is nearing an in principle rescue deal of about £16 billion with creditors holding roughly £13 billion of its debt, involving write downs of up to 30%, a £3.15 billion plus equity injection, and regulatory commitments agreed with Ofwat, in a bid to keep Britain’s largest water utility solvent and out of temporary government ownership.
