Thames Water creditors to vote on emergency £2.4bn loan as cash runs low

Thames Water’s senior creditors, including BlackRock, Elliott Management and Silver Point Capital, are set to vote on an additional £2.4 billion emergency loan that would increase the utility’s rescue financing to £5.4 billion and extend its liquidity runway to autumn 2027, as the debt-laden company faces a potential cash shortfall by early 2027 and mounting calls for it to enter special administration rather than pursue another costly creditor-funded rescue.
