UK retailer in administration with 33 stores axed owing £59m

Russell & Bromley owed £59.3 million when it collapsed into administration after falling sales, rising costs and a high fixed-cost base drove £20 million of losses over two years, with Next acquiring the brand and three stores in a pre-pack deal while the remaining 33 locations closed and about 400 employees were made redundant.
