UK Windows & Doors Group Limited - Administration

UK Windows & Doors Group Limited, a window and door manufacturer with multiple locations across Wales and England, entered administration on 2 October, after a large reduction in demand for the company’s products led to an unsustainable level of losses and associated funding requirements. Michael Hawes and Matthew Roe of Teneo were appointed joint administrators, and said that 496 employees would be made redundant at sites in Treorchy, Llwynypia, Williamstown and Taff's Well, all in Rhondda Cynon Taf, and that a further 67 employees would be made redundant at sites in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, and Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. However, the firm's "sevenday" business has been sold, preserving 91 jobs, while another 73 employees have been retained to assist with the administration process. Boxwood Capital and Secure Trust Bank have registered charges against the company.
