Vale of Mowbray – administration

Vale of Mowbray, a famous North Yorkshire pie maker which employed 219 people, entered administration on 28 September. The family-run business has experienced significant financial challenges in recent years due to rising raw material input prices, increasing energy costs and sector-wide recruitment challenges. 171 employees have been made redundant, while the remaining staff have been retained to assist the Joint Administrators as they wind up the operations and move towards an asset sale of the company’s two manufacturing sites in Leeming Bar. Martyn Pullin, Mark Hodgett and David Shambrook of FRP were appointed as Joint Administrators. Lendnet LLP has a registered charge against the company.
