Veeno enters administration for the second time

Italian wine bar chain, previously rescued in a 2019 pre-pack deal, seeks sustainable reset

Vintage Corporation Ltd, the operator of Italian wine bar chain Veeno, has entered administration for the second time, with David Kemp and Richard Hunt of Exigen Group appointed joint administrators on 8 April 2026.

Founded in 2013, Veeno built its brand around Italian wine bars serving food alongside wines imported from the group’s family vineyard in Sicily. The company also sells bottles through its website, with prices ranging from £12 to £54.

Five UK venues remain open in Bristol, Durham, Edinburgh, Leeds and Leicester, alongside one site in Wroclaw, Poland. A Chester location had already closed earlier this year, together with various other locations which have closed since the group operated 15 restaurants across the country in 2018.

The filing marks a renewed restructuring effort for the business after it was rescued in 2019 through a pre-pack administration deal led by Rodrigue Trouillet.

Nino Caruso, founder of Veeno Bars, said the company had been affected by conditions across the casual dining market, including rising operating costs and challenges within the property landscape. Caruso said the administration allows the business to realign and ensure a more sustainable foundation for the future.
