WHP Engineering Ltd and WHP Facilities Ltd - Administration

WHP Engineering Ltd and WHP Facilities Ltd, a Tyneside engineering group which employed 61 workers, entered administration on 4 December after struggling with inflation, low margins, labour shortages and insolvencies among other contractors and suppliers in the industry. The companies’ directors were ultimately not able to conclude a solvent transaction for the business and James Hichens and Christopher Petts of Grant Thornton were appointed as joint administrators. Almost all workers have been made redundant. Secure Trust Bank PLC and Endless LLP have registered charges against both companies, while Hsbc Bank PLC has a registered charge against just WHP Engineering.
