Windhoist Ireland Limited – liquidation

Windhoist Ireland Limited, an Irish firm that is part of a group of companies that provides mechanical and electrical services to power generating wind turbines manufacturers, entered liquidation last week, after pandemic disruption and supply chain issues ‘severely impacted’ the business. The company, represented by Niall Buckley Bl, sought the appointment of liquidators after its Scottish parent company entered administration. The parent company cited higher-than-expected operating costs and the withholding of moneys due under the contracts by customers as causing its insolvency. As part of the parent’s decision to enter administration, the plant from which the Irish company operated will no longer be available. Nicholas O’Dwyer and Stuart Preston of Grant Thornton were appointed joint provisional liquidators.
