The Floor Room - Administration
The Floor Room, a flooring business which sold carpets, laminate and other types of flooring out of its concessions in 34 John Lewis shops, entered administration on 9 August.
The company was founded in 2023 and was operationally reliant upon Carpetright, which itself was placed into administration on 22 July.
Adam Seres, Zelf Hussain and Peter Dickens of PwC were appointed joint administrators after the company’s management team exhausted options to secure further funding or a potential sale.
On appointment, the joint administrators made the majority of the company’s 200 employees redundant and closed all concessions with immediate effect. Certain head office staff will be retained for a short period to support in winding down the company’s affairs.
